Japan Trip - Pre-Departure

This Japan traveling trip is an incentive trip given to the best reseller of a product by a company in Butterworth. As my father is rewarded with 1 package, my mother and I managed to purchase our tour package from other resellers who are unable to join the tour at a little bit lower price.

The application of visa to enter Japan is not easy. I believed this is because there are TOO MANY Malaysian working illegally in Japan, so precaution has to be made to avoid more illegal workers. According to the travel agency, Japan is the 3rd strictest country ranked after US and… Opps, I cant remember :p

During Chinese New Year, I submitted a self-taken passport size photo. It was rejected as my face was slightly not facing the front. A copy of my bank statement was required as a supporting document too, so I printed 3 months statement from the internet and couriered it together with my passport photo back to Penang.

On the next day, I received a phone call from the travel agency informed me that there is a possibility that the photo will be rejected again. The reason given was my passport photo is more than 6 months old. Original copy of bank statement is required with original stamping from the bank and I also have to prepare a confirmation letter from current employer stated that I’m an employee.

Well… I had to rush to get those documents done AGAIN and couriered them AGAIN. I wondered why doesn’t the agency inform us EVERYTHING required for the visa application earlier instead of now rushing me to get everything done just 2 weeks before the trip?

After 2 days, I was informed that they have to bring my passport with all supporting documents to Kuala Lumpur for the visa application as I’m working in KL. What a silly arrangement that the visa has to be applied at the place near to where the applicant work?

Here is the process, I passed my passport to my father, he passed it to the travel agency in Butterworth, the travel agency passed it to another agent in KL to apply for visa. Luckily, everything went smooth and I had to drive all the way to Sentul from Petaling Jaya to collect my passport from the KL agent.

4 days before my traveling trip, I drove to Sentul to collect my passport after work with my friend. Then we had nice dinner at a great romantic Malay style restaurant.

Japan… I’m coming!!! ^^
